Day of The Dead Candy-Thon!!!!

Another day, another Day of the Dead Candy-thon. This year was as amazing as ever. Check out this work! The assignment was to work with a small group, research traditional Day of the Dead imagery, design a DOTD image and reproduce it in candy form. Here are the results. We enjoyed the art and then ate it! (Wayne S., Lora Lee J. and Ricky M. in top photo and Jen T. and Jenna K. in bottom photo)

In The Gallery!

The Galleries are full of fantastic art this month. Greg Stewart is featured in the South Gallery with "Turning Many Ways". The show includes mixed-media wall sculpture and large 2-D mylar drawings. In the North Gallery....Monsters!!! That's right! This is a small group show featuring BIG talents. Allison Sommers, Allyson Melberg and Jeremy Taylor are disturbingly delightful. Shelby Fischer has a large installation in front of the Dickinson Building. The piece, L'esprit de l'escalier, is a large, two part construction combining her delicate sewn and assembled fabric work with assemblage sculpture. In the KAG Student gallery we are featuring an old friend and much loved student, Sarah Murphy. Sarah is sharing some of her new photos and paintings. Come in and see what awesome looks like!
